The Chinese Pregnancy Calendar is a pregnancy chart that is said to be able to predict whether a pregnant mom will have a boy or girl. One of the more well known secrets of the ancient Chinese, the Chinese Pregnancy Calendar uses the mother's age and month of conception to determine whether their baby's sex will be male or female.

The Chinese Pregnancy Calendar - How It Works

All you have to do is find the Mom's age down the left side of the chart. The age range goes from 18 to 45. Then figure out the month when the baby was conceived and trace the chart to the right until you find the correct month. There will be a square where the age and month meet, and that square will be either pink or blue. If the square is blue, then it's a boy! If the square is pink, then it's a girl!

It is said that the Chinese Pregnancy Calendar was buried in the "Tomb of the Royals" for almost 1000 years before being discovered. Today it is on display at the Beijing Institute of Science in China. It is shrouded in mystery, but perhaps the elite of ancient China relied on this pregnancy chart to determine the sex of their children. One thing we do know is that the Chinese Pregnancy Calendar is based on the Chinese lunar calendar, which is different from the Gregorian calendar we use in the United States.
